[edit] Pro career
Known as "Cincinnati Kid", Austin was an exciting Bantamweight fighter, and successfully defended his IBF Bantamweight title ten times after defeating Mbulelo Botile in 1997. Austin lost his title to dominant Rafael Marquez in an 8th round TKO upset in 2003.
[edit] Legal Troubles
Shortly after the loss to Marquez, Austin was accused, and later acquitted, of raping a 16 year old girl [1]. With his legal troubles behind him, Austin resumed his career in 2005 but his comeback was quickly derailed when he lost via TKO to journeyman Eric Aiken, who went on to win the IBF Bantamweight Title.
Austin had another run in with the law in January of 2008. He was arrested and charged with domestic violence after allegedly threatening to kill his wife, and for kicking and punching her about the face. [2]
