The Wars(1977), is another of Timothy Findley's works. This novel won the Governor General's Award that year, establishing Findley as one of Canada's top novelists.

[edit] Stone Orchard
I seem to recall a CBC interview wiith Findley, during his last book tour, in which he said he and Bill Whitehead had already sold Stone Orchard to Rex Harrington. Don't know that I'll ever see the interview again, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was mentioned other pieces froim that time. Again, I'm going by memory. Victoriagirl 04:02, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- You know, that was always the impression that I had, too...I always thought that because of the decline in Findley's health, they moved to France and sold Stone Orchard to Harrington while Findley was still alive. But when I looked for sources to include it in the article, the few sources I could find that actually gave a specific date for the sale said 2003. I'll keep looking for sources (and you should as well, if you have the time and inclination), but so far I haven't found a source that confirms my memory of how and when it happened. - Okay, using different search terms I've now found a source that says Harrington bought Stone Orchard while Findley was still alive ([1]), but it doesn't give a specific year, so I've rewritten the section as generically as possible. Bearcat 19:08, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
