Tillietudlem
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tillietudlem is a hamlet in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The nearby Craignethan Castle was thought to have been the inspiration for Tillietudlem Castle, in Sir Walter Scott's novel, Old Mortality. The hamlet has taken the name, and, once a year, the people of Tillietudlem have an event to remember when it was first named "Tillietudlem". Tillietudlem lies about one mile west of Crossford on the Corra Mill Road. Crossford is on the A72 between Hamilton and Lanark.
Local celebrities include drummer Tom Graham, and Tommy Boyd
