Tijeras Peak is the highest summit in Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve[1], in Colorado. Located in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Range, it is part of a group of six thirteeners at the north end of the park including Milwaukee Peak and Mount Herard. The west slope of the mountain is within Rio Grande National Forest.
"Tijeras" is Spanish for scissors, referring to the double pronged rocky tip of the mountain.
