I hate that photo of the plush Tigger, it really needs cropping and the focus is shit. The cartoon Tigger would be much more approriate.
The article should probably state that Tigger is not just from one book, but from a series of books, cartoons, and movies. Also, the current image is of a stuffed toy Tigger, not one from the cartoon or book, which might be misleading. -Gyre

The nigger article claims that Tigger means "Tamboo nigger", that true? Isn't that ironic that tigger is popular amongst kids even though the claimed coinage of the name points toward a word censored away from kids? --SuperDude 21:06, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
- It may be true, but it sounds like an unfortunate coincidence to me. Why would AA Milne (or Christopher Robin) deliberately take a derogatory term more-or-less unknown outside the USA and attach it to a character with no particular reason to be so identified? No, in this instance I think we can assume that Tigger is just a silly variation of tiger. --Bonalaw 08:07, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

As he is a tiger on the outside with an African-American(in historical context at least) personality, I assumed it was tiger and nigger, as Tigger wasn't created yesterday.

There was an internet meme that replaced the chorus of Gold Digger by Kanye West as follows: "now I aint sayin she a gold digger/ but she aint messin with no broke Tigger". The accompanying imagery depicted Tigger dressed like he was from the ghetto, wearing a jersey, baggy pants, sneakers, and sunglasses, standing next to an attractive scantily clad woman.

Bouncing on tail and songs are added by Disney. Many fans consider that Disney dumbed down the original Milne tongue-in-cheek book into just another children entertainment.

Yeah, there really should be two seperate pages, one for the original Tigger character and one for the Disney version,as they are quite different. Anyone reading that page would get confused between the two

I remember reading that Tigger is the most common name for a cat in English speaking countries. Is this true? I am currently living with a Tigger of my own and have met more than a few more over the years so it seems likely. - Ferret 22:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
