[edit] The time I met Tony the Tiger
I had the opportunity to meet Thurl Ravenscroft 8 years ago when I was 16 years old. I was in Anaheim, CA, visiting my grandfather in his retirement community. We are having dinner in the dining area and about 15 minutes into the meal my grandfather points to a man at another table. He says, "That's the voice of Tony the Tiger." I replied, "Really? And he LIVES HERE?" My grandfather nodded and I starting thinking, "If I don't make him say it, I'll kick myself for the rest of my life." I decided to approach him. I explained to Mr. Ravenscroft that my grandfather had just told me who he was, to which he craftily replied, "Who am I?" I said, "You're Tony the Tiger!" He answered, "Yes I am." I asked him, "Can you say it for me?" He knew exactly what I was talking about and blurted out a booming, "THEY'RRRRRRRRE GRRRRRRRRRREAT!" Needless to say, I was very pleased. I thanked him, shook his hand and went back to my meal. I was smiling for the rest of my trip in CA. In retrospect, I should have had him sing, "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch," if I had only known that he was responsible for that glorious moment in human history as well. But perhaps enough was enough. I told everyone I knew when I got home. A memorable yet brief moment.

[edit] You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch
- I didn't know that Thurl Ravenscroft sang the song until I read the article, which was relatively recently. I thought it was Boris Karloff, and my dad thought so, too. Gm1121983 12:21, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ravenscroft2.jpeg
Image:Ravenscroft2.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:33, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jungle Book
This article says he didn't sing Shere Khan's bass parts in the Jungle Book, but the The Jungle Book (1967 film) says he does. I'm inclined to believe this one, as it's discrediting the other, but can anyone find any proof?
