Talk:Three-Dimensional Virtual Tourism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Justification

3DVT is a suggested addition to the general discussion of virtual tours and tourism. Perhaps it should be merged into virtual tours, as a line application. However, a popular view of a "virtual tour" comes from experiences with hotel registration and on-line real estate advertisements. Interactive mapping technologies now bring the the possbility of adding actual 3D models into this mix, without deleting the former. Obviously, university research has already explored this usage as well, but not too much has appeared in the public domain. This listing is a first attempt to nail down some definitions before a popular wave of 3DVT applications from the likes of Google Earth begin to appear en masse. Further suggestions are welcome.
