Beggars Group and 4AD recording labels provide this copyrighted photograph to media and press outlets for general promo photo use. The photo is used by these labels to promote their artist Throwing Muses. Uploaded as small file for fair use purposes from larger file provided by Melanie Gaugl of Beggars Group to Wikipedia contributor Emerman by email attachment on December 19, 2005. The photo was described by Beggars as "recent", but it appears they meant it was more recent than the 1986 photo appearing in the Throwing Muses article. It appears to have been shot about 1994 (estimate based on hair styles of Georges and Hersh — Georges hasn't worn dreadlocks in years), but the exact year or period is being checked on. In 1994 the group and label were recording and shooting artwork for the album called University, and in 1995 the labels and band were promoting the new 1995 release. The album included artwork where her hair appeared as in this photo, but by March 1995's Rolling Stone article, her hair was a different color. This makes it most likely the photo was taken in late 1994 while the album was being prepared for release. The photo was definitely taken sometime after 1993 but could have been taken any time since then; they most recently performed concerts in 2003 and continued to have a web presence at http://www.throwingmusic.com and at the Beggar/4ad labels in 2005.
