Thornton Rust is a village in the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire, England. It lies about 2 miles west of Aysgarth, high on the south side of the Ure valley.
The village has a bus service which is run by the Dales & District and goes to Leyburn and Hawes,[1] with about five buses per day on weekdays, three on Saturdays and two on Sundays in each direction.
The village consists of fifty houses, which are all shown and named on a freely available map.[2] The population in recent history has been:[3]
