In Greek mythology, Thoosa was a Nereid, and one of Poseidon's paramours. She became mother of the Cyclops Polyphemus when Poseidon possessed her in a sea cave. She was the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto. However being a Nereid she could also be the daughter of Nereus and Doris.
