Thomas Poynton (born November 25, 1989) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Derbyshire. He is a right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper. He was born in Burton-on-Trent.

Poynton made his County Championship debut in July 2007, against Middlesex, having represented the team three times during the 2006 Second XI Championship season. Poynton has also made two appearances in the Twenty20 Cup.

Poynton's debut first-class match saw him caught twice, both times for a duck.
