Thomas Hartmann is a pilot and officer in the United States Navy.[1][2]

Commander Hartmann commanded Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VR) 57, based in Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego California.[3] Hartmann is notable to for commanding the squadron when it accepted the first models of a plane new to the Navy. The squadron flies C-40A Clipper aircraft, a derivative of the Boeing 737.

On May 25]] 2006, at a ceremony when he accepted delivery of the Navy's ninth C-40A he said[3]:

"This highly dependable and flexible aircraft helps us meet the Navy's worldwide intra-theater airlift requirements."
