Talk:Thomas Eldon McIntyre
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I should clarify that I came across this information while perusing a copy of the 1952 Winnipeg Free Press for unrelated purposes.
The December 5 edition of the WPF lists a "Thomas McIntyre" in its obituary section, and describes him as having taken an interest in public affairs. The obit also says that he worked in Oakville, Manitoba, which is just outside Portage la Prairie.
Both the federal "Lisgar" riding and the provincial "Mountain" constituency were close to PLP as well. It's pretty obvious, as such, that this is the same person.
Interestingly, the provincial returns for 1936 (as published in the Canadian parliamentary guide) list a "T.S. McIntyre" as having ran in Mountain. I will assume the middle initial is an error. CJCurrie 22:01, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
