[edit] Salvage the Old or rewrite?

This article is lifted from the 1911 Brittanica and represents a view of Aldrich 100 years old. Written within a few years of his death, it represents him chiefly as a poet. His poetry is today mostly forgotten while he lives, if he lives at all as the author of "The Story of a Bad Boy" and his Rivermouth stories. The question: How much of this old article to salvage and how much to rewrite?Meb53 15:52, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nativist viewpoints

Came across an Aldrich poem in one of my college anthologies. "The Unguarded Gates", expresses a heavy nativist and anti-immigration sentiment. May want to expand on this for part of the article.
