[edit] Bartlet High and more

Hi Rob, i tend to agree with you about the Elgin and Bartlett merge example. I am still experimenting with that district and after reading all your comments as well as Man in Blacks I am definitely coming around to your perspective. I think you are doing an excellent job of reasoning, obviously you have thought about this more than most. I never meant to imply you did not finish the job of doing up school articles i just happened to see your user name, and kappa's, working on that particular school page ( i forget which now). in retrospect i wish i had not made the joke it has just added a lot of noise to the debate. Please don't take that as a swipe at your work since your school articles are fantastic. Your work speaks for itself.

With regard to the Afd there is a real problem that it has become a clearling house for improvement as well as people trying to make a point. This is the reason i am supportive of a no information deleted policy. I might add i have tried to be constructive in building school pages. My edits may seem a little unfocused but i think that represents the nature of the problem not me trying to make a point. The way i see the schools at the moment (always a moving target) we need to get a policy in place that will prevent frivalous Afd nominations. At the same time we need a clearing house for new school articles that need a drastic cleanup. Without the hours wasted in Afd or school talk pages the school pages can be made into a relevant and useful resource. I hope you can see we have more common goals than difference. David D. [edit] LBU

Hi Rob/Thivierr --

That LBU is unaccredited is not disputed by anybody; we state it in the first sentence and niether side wants to get rid of it. The fact that ACSI apparently states (haven't gone back to check) that ACSI is unaccredited even though it does not itself accredit colleges is kind of not very significant. I guess you could say "According to ACSI, LBU is not accredited by another accrediting body" (although you would have to check to see what ACSI defines as accredited.)

In the end, I would say let's just not mention ACSI at all. It is not responsible for accrediting colleges, and any "extra-credit" stuff it does is not really notable?

[edit] Calgary Talk

I will have to ask you not delete perfectly legitimate comments from a Wikipedia talk pages without appropriate explanation. This is considered vandalism. Your opinion is not the only one. I'm sorry you disagree with me, but it is not your right to remove my voice because it "bothers" you. -Tyson2k 23:59, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

Whoa! What are you talking about? I removed my *own* comments here. You then put my comments back here. I never removed your comments. --Rob 00:04, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
I just noticed this where you actually re-removed *my* comments when you replied to them (you must have been replying to me, as you responded to the word "trivial" and you make two comments in a row). --Rob 00:10, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Okay then. I will assume you accidently removed mine then. Sorry. I removed yours because you had already removed them and I revereted. Since I assumed you wanted them gone, I got rid of them again. -Tyson2k 00:15, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Show me the diff where I removed yours. --Rob 00:17, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
I re-reviewed the history of Talk:Calgary, Alberta and I can't see any place where I removed another's comments. If you find the diffs showing me removing your comments I will apologize fully. If you don't, I expect a full unconditional apology. --Rob 00:32, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
You are correct. I misread the diff. Sorry. You should edit your last comment on the Calgary page to keep it pertinant. -Tyson2k 02:27, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Garneau

Humm... just wondering, I see the mistake I did. But it should be okay to add an easy link on the page so people can get to it: for example <nowiki>[[category:name]]</nowiki> --Pat 01:53, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not sure, but I assume you're referring to my removal of Category:Wikipedians from Garneau from École Secondaire Catholique Garneau. Unfortunately, I would suggest such a category or link to it, should only be on your user page, at most. Generally, information about us (e.g. wikipedians) should never appear in any article.
It's actually an unnecessary category as anybody can see who's interested in the school by the edit history or by the talk page of the school article. Which Wikipedians went to the school is not important, but what's important is which wikipedians have an interested in editing the school article. Since, we only use verifiable information, anybody (or at least any Francophone) is equally able to edit the article.
Generally, we would only track alumni of a school for notable people, not regular folks like us. --Rob 02:05, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
