[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kwik-e-mart.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kwik-e-mart.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -Panser Born- (talk) 19:41, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dio-logo.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dio-logo.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:12corazones.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:12corazones.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:57, 19 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 05:57, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Portal:Puerto Rico

Hey! The Puerto Rico Portal page has been revamped with additional content, including a Selected series of Articles, Pictures, and Biographies related to Puerto Rico. However, maintaining a Portal is no easy task. As a member of the WikiProject Puerto Rico, please consider helping out in one of the following tasks:

  • You can add Puerto Rico current events and news to the In the news... section as they occur.
  • You can participate in the discussion of Nominations for content nominated to Selected status.
  • You can nominate content for Selected status in the Nominations page.

Your help and contributions are greatly appreciated. Enjoy the Portal! - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 03:49, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Gordon-gekko.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gordon-gekko.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jackofalltradesmasterofnone 13:39, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:PetraJekyllAndHydeSp.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:PetraJekyllAndHydeSp.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 17:12, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Hi. If I'm not mistaken, you're Josh Renaud who maintains PRMW.com. Anyways, was just wondering if you could upload some photos of Petra if possible? Ummm... Completely free images - images of them in concert taken by you on a digicam or something. Actually, would be nice if you could upload more photos of Christian bands in general. The reason for asking is cos I've just created the Christian music portal (still under construction) and I realise that we do not have "free" images to be shown on the portal. Was wondering what to do and your name popped into my head. :) So I found your userpage (pretty easy since you've created the Petra page et al).
Secondly, if you could help us in expanding, developing and maintaining the Christian music portal, it'd be nice. Really. You may let me know here. Happy wiki-ing!!! aJCfreak yAk 08:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC) PS:In the unlikely event that you are not Josh, please let me know on my talk page and I'll kick myself.

Ok. I've kicked myself. Anyways, seeing that you started the Petra page and that you've an avid interest in Petra, do you have any photos of CCM artists that you could upload? I'd be glad if you could. Would help. Please let me know the image links after uploading them, if you've got any. aJCfreak yAk 11:20, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Main Page

Surprise! History of Puerto Rico has been selected for presentation on the Main Page for Monday, June 18, 2007 (tomorrow!). My congratulations to all editors who helped bring this important Puerto Rican topic to FA, especially to Joelito. But don't celebrate yet. There's two important things we should do:

  1. Review the article. Since it became FA, it has received extensive edits from users, and therefore may need copy-editing and MOS-adjustments for presentation. Some users related to the Main Page-selection process have already made many edits, and we should continue their good work to make sure the article is pristine.
  2. WATCH IT!! Given the Main Page's exposure (millions view it every day), FA articles which are presented there get viewed by many people, including vandals. Please watch the page carefully, reverting vandalism as you go. I've seen Main Page articles get overwhelmed with vandalism, and since many more people keep going to it on the Main Page, we don't want them to see a vandalized article. This is a 24 hour task (as long as its presented), and requires the collaboration of the entire Puerto Rico WikiProject.

Well, gente, take pride that on June 18, Puerto Rico's history will be presented on the grandest of pages in Wikipedia. Peace! - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 10:15, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Yuri Foreman

Thanks for adding the box. You deleted "Through June 2007 he is 23 (8 KOs)-0-0." Is that because it is considered redundant to the extent now in the box? I think that the text could profit from the statement that he is undefeated. Also, the box does not indicate what date the info is good as of ... can you add that? Tx.--Epeefleche 21:44, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Hi. I assumed you r busy, so I did my best to address the box as/of date issue. Feel free to improve upon it.--Epeefleche 18:11, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Images for the Christian music portal

Thanks. Btw, I don't have anything in mind. Any images related to Christian music - not just CCM would be fine. Preferably, they could be high-quality good-looking images. :) Sounds like I'm asking for the moon, eh?! Anyways, take a look at the current image of Jars of Clay at the portal. You'll see what I mean - the lighting and such, in the image, make for a great pic. The band is not much seen, though. Anyways, whatever you've got is fine. Cheerio!

Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 00:25, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Herman-simpsons.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Herman-simpsons.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 20:58, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
