Purportedly a fan of science fiction, she names two unheard-of writers. It is possible that she means to reference Iain M. Banks and Douglas Adams but one would expect a sci-fi fan to be particular about getting the names right. I suspect she is not a sci-fi fan.

Incidentally, Iain M. Banks' first name is spelled Iain, not Ian. The clue is in the fact that I've already written it at least twice ;)
