[edit] Biography
David C. Gui was born in Shanghai, China on February 5, 1986. At age four, he moved to Montreal, Canada where he studied French. At the age of nine he moved to the United States where he has lived since. He attended William Fremd High School in Palatine, Illinois where he participated in numerous activities including scholastic bowl. He is currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he is majoring in Political Science with concentrations in International Security and History. His interests include basketball, the Chicago Bulls, Wikipedia, music, art, cooking, filmmaking, politics, history, reading, communism, Hitler, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.

David Gui has contributed to a wide range of topics ranging from cystic fibrosis to Medieval literature. Most of his contributions lie in his areas of expertise which include United States history, East Asian history, United States politics, sports, 19th century French impressionism art, Shakespearean literature, Western literature, modern drama and literature, Broadway musicals, military science, weaponry, modern warfare, and international diplomacy.
His initial inquisitiveness into Wikipedia stemmed from its versatility and power to inform. Fascinated with Wikipedia's extensive size and content, he has pursued a goal of contributing his knowledge to the academic aspect of the encyclopedia. As Wikipedia continues to grow at a logistical exponential rate, the power to inform is quickly reaching every corner of the world educating millions and soon to be billions.
He has recently completed his article Oil in Mexico as part of his project on Energy and Security.
[edit] Notable Edits
In April 2005, Gui made several edits detailing Japanese atrocities in the articles Nanking Massacre and Unit 731. Those edits caused a significant debate between academics and Nanjing deniers which led to both articles being locked. Following a subsequent debate, the edits were proved to be valid and kept. They remain present as of today.
He has been editing articles as of December 2004.

Polarity is one way of describing his political standings as he is not moderate on very many issues usually taking strong sides. He is a firm critic of the Bush administration.
