Therapeutic lying

Therapeutic lying is the controversial practice of lying to patients who repeatedly forget traumatic facts.[1] For instance, a caregiver may tell an Alzheimer's disease patient who inquires about his wife whereabouts that "She's gone to the store" rather than "She died seven years ago."
