[edit] Controversy surrounding the album
The writing of "The Will That Was..." took Jim Barakat just around three years to finish and he kept thorough logs of the endeavors he faced in the last year of completing it in a blog on the official Paper Covers Rock website. The album had multiple names including "In the Sweat of Thy Face Shalt Thou Eat Thy Bread" which was in reference to Genesis 3:19. Another working title for the work early in production was "Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc" which in Latin means, "after this, therefore because of this." It was only after the album was complete when the working title "The Will That Was..." was chosen as the title of the album. The title signifies Jim playing the role of "the Will" in regards to the subsequent song on the album, # 13 "...Your True Blue Someone." Songs 1 and 13 are one whole song cut in half hence the "..." after the title of #1 and before the title of #13. A secret website is hidden on Paper Covers Rock's official website as an appendix to this album outlining a more detailed explanation of the album as a whole.
