The Week the Women Went
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Week The Women Went is a television show produced by Paperny Films, and based on a BBC Three program of the same title. The TV show is part documentary, part reality television, that explores what happens when all the women in an ordinary Canadian town disappear for a week and leave the men and children to cope on their own.
The show was taped in Hardisty, Alberta from June 2 to June 9, 2007. The show began airing on CBC Television in Canada on Monday, January 21, 2008, at 8pm. The series consists of eight one hour shows.
The first episode profiled the participants in the show. An estimated 1.2 million viewers watched the debut episode. [1]
In the second episode, the women left Hardisty for their week of vacation. The episode details how the men provided for the children and themselves on the first day. It features a cattle branding party. Some online discussion groups felt the second episode went too far in its discussion of teen sex in Hardisty. [2]
The third episode is scheduled to air on CBC Television on February 4th, 2008.
