[edit] History
Its name refers to the mascot of Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy, the vanguard. When the school district approved the change in the school's contract to expand its program, the school board asked that the new school's name not be similar to the district's Cheyenne Mountain High School.[2]
[edit] Extracurricular activities
The Vanguard School fields teams in basketball, cheerleading, cross country, soccer, track and field, and volleyball. Other activities offered at the school include chess club, drama club, running club, student council and yearbook.
