The Tolkien Trust
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tolkien Trust is a British charity founded in 1977[1] that manages J. R. R. Tolkien's estate[2]. Currently, it is one of the supporters of the WWF in the United Kingdom[3].
On February 11, 2008, together with Tolkien's publisher HarperCollins, it filed a suit against New Line Cinema over the profits of the The Lord of the Rings film trilogy [2]. This law suit may freeze the production of The Hobbit, a planned prequel for the trilogy[4].
