The Super League is the elite netball competition in England and Wales. The league, which runs from November to June, features eight teams from all areas of the county. It is regularly aired on leading sports broadcaster Sky Sports, thanks to a major television deal agreed in 2006. The competition includes players from Fiji, New Zealand, England, Wales and Scotland.
The eight teams for the 2007/08 league season, sponsored by The Co-operative[1] were as follows:
- Brunel Hurricanes, play in Guildford, Surrey.
- Celtic Dragons, play in Cardiff, Wales
- Leeds Met Carnegie, play in Leeds, West Yorkshire
- Loughborough Lightning, play in Loughborough, Leicestershire
- The Mavericks, play in Hatfield, Hertfordshire
- Northern Thunder (netball), play in Liverpool, Merseyside
- Team Bath, play in Bath, Somerset
- Team Northumbria, play in Newcastle, Tyneside
