The Skooners are a garage/indie/alternative blues-rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2004 and made up of brothers Blair (vocals) and Ian (guitar) Dewane, Anthony Fitzgerald (bass guitar) and Jake Farmer (drums), they released their debut album, Shut Down Shop, on April 7, 2007.

On February 16th, 2007 at The Rainbow Bar & Grill in Las Vegas, The Skooners went on to win the "Rock The Rainbow" local band competition, finishing for a crowd of 1300 people. They received a professional recording session at Studio At The Palms (located at The Palms Hotel and Casino), a showcase for Sony A&R representatives and a Saturday night spotlight gig (May 19, 2007) at the famous Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles, CA.[1]

They have attracted crowds and a devoted fanbase to their countless shows.[citation needed]

Their radio premiere was Sunday, October 15, 2006 on the airwaves of Xtreme Rock Radio 107.5 during a show called Local 108. The song played was "Street March" and it was awesome! Since then they played "Bad, Bad Man" on Sunday, June 10 2007.

They will be opening for 90s powerhouse girl band Veruca Salt on Sep. 22, 2007 at the Cheyenne Saloon!

  • Anthony Fitzgerald made his academy award-winning acting debut in "Side Effect"! He said "whoa!!!"
  • The Skooner is a breed of the fish family "Mammaleus Skooneritis."
  • There is a bar in Ottawa Kansas named after The Skooners (Skooners Bar & Grill).
  • Former keyboardist Scott Rundquist is in fact an intergalactic emissary from Jupiter's third moon, the inhabitants of whom are known for their astute cluelessness and douchebaggery. He was sent to reconnoiter Earth and prepare for a full-fledged invasion sometime around 2017.
