The Rough Riders (TV series)

The Rough Riders was a western television series which was set in the West just after the American Civil War, appearing on ABC for the 1958-1959 television season. It was produced by Ziv Television, the company responsible for such hit shows as Bat Masterson, Sea Hunt, and Highway Patrol.
The show was about three ex-soldiers, two Union and one Confederate who travelled together across the West, fighting trouble and bad guys. The series starred Kent Taylor as ex-Union Captain Jim Flagg, Jan Merlin as former Confederate Lieutenant Colin Kirby and Peter Whitney as ex-Union Sergeant Buck Sinclair. Among the series' guest stars were William Conrad, DeForest Kelley, Jack Hogan, Lon Chaney, Jr., Mike Connors, Barbara Woodell, Leonard Nimoy, James Coburn, Mimi Gibson and Joyce Meadows. The Rough Riders only lasted for one season, producing a total of 39 episodes.
