The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy (1957) is a Mexican film that blended the elements of science fiction and horror. The plot can be easily summarized in the film's tagline, which reads "See the relentless machine battle the gruesome corpse." The alternative title for this film was Aztec Mummy vs. the Human Robot. Featured in the documenary, The 50 Worst Movies Ever Made (2004), the film was directed by Rafael Portillo and starred Ramon Gay and Rosa Arenas. The film was also the movie featured on the 1989 episode "The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy" on Mystery Science Theater 3000. The film is the sequel to The Aztec Mummy, and The Curse of the Aztec Mummy, both released earlier that year.
[edit] Plot
Mad scientist, Dr. Edmund Almada (Ramon Gay), plots to steal a valuable Aztec treasure from the tomb of a centuries-old living mummy, Popoca (Angel di Stefani). Dr. Almada builds a robot to battle the mummy and steal the treasure.
