The Road to Uruapan (Destination Uruapan : The Fantastic Conquerors #01) is a novel by Philippe Ebly published in France in 1971.

Serge Daspremont and the two Forestier brothers, Raoul and Marc are kidnapped in the Champaign, Illinois airport because they have witnessed the robbery of a cargo of diamonds. The robbers decided to bring the three French boys with them in a small airplane, and then to left them drugged in the Yucatan Desert. The three boys walk in the right direction and find a small friendly village. Unfortunately, their young guide towards the city, Xolotl, is not entirely reliable.

The story includes a mistic experience involving tolteca indian gods that actually health a scorpion injure from one of the boys (who is barelly saved from dead)

At the end of the story, Xolotl became more than an adventure partner to Serge (the adoption by his father is suggested and then confirmed in the subsequent books)
