"The Road Goes On Forever" is a song by folk singer Robert Earl Keen, Jr. It was originally released in 1989 on the album West Textures. A longer version was released in 2001 on the album Gravitational Forces, and a live version appears on the 2006 album and DVD Live at the Ryman: The Greatest Show Ever Been Gave.
The song is one of Keen's signature songs and has been covered by various other musical artists, including Joe Ely on 1992's Love & Danger and by The Highwaymen on their album The Road Goes On Forever, released in 1995 and 2005.
