Jonnie Parkin (Born 24th March 1973) is an Anglican Priest (Church of England) specialising in youth ministry and interfaith dialogue. He is currently Chaplain at Leicester Cathedral and Chaplain of De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.

Born in Milton Keynes, Jonnie grew up in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, where he attended Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Horncastle (with the comedian Robert Webb.) He has also studied at: North Lincolnshire College,Lincoln; La Sainte Union College of Higher Education (LSU), Southampton; The Queen's College, Edgbaston; and the University of Birmingham.

Before being ordained at Lincoln Cathedral in 1998, Jonnie worked in Special Education at John Fielding Special School, Boston. He also worked at Leigh House School and Leigh House Hospital, Chandler’s Ford, an Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. There he gained extensive experience of working with marginalised young people.

After ordination he worked for three years as a Curate in Skegness, Lincolnshire, before moving to Leicester in 2001.

Jonnie leads regular trips for young people to the Taizé Community in France, and organises ‘Prayers with Songs from Taizé’ at Leicester Cathedral. He is currently chair of the Local Organising Group of the Leicester Intercultural, Communication and Leadership School.[1] ICLS brings together young people from different faith, ethnic and cultural backgrounds providing them with training in Diversity Awareness, Leadership Skills, Media training and Conflict Mediation. He is also a senior Street Pastor[2] in the Leicester City Centre team.

Reverend Parkin's media career to date has been a mixture of serious social commentary and silliness. He has been a panellist on the Beyond Belief: Radio Programme (BBC Radio 4), the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's ‘Religion Report’[3], and is a regular on BBC Radio Leicester. More embarrassingly he has featured as an ‘Invader for the Day’ on the BBC’s ‘Garden Invaders’(produced by Endemol), and as a ‘Dancing Dad’ on Top of the Pops Reloaded, an event he apparently claims had nothing to do with the show’s eventual demise.

Jonnie is related to blue's musician Victor Brox (second cousins).
