The Once and Future King was a Twilight Zone episode.

Jeff Yagher plays Gary, an Elvis Presley impersonator who travels back in time to meet "The King", Elvis Presley himself.

After nearly crashing his truck, Gary awakes to find the real Elvis (Yagher in a dual role) driving up. Elvis offers Gary a ride, saying "You look...all shook up." Elvis thinks that Gary is a reincarnation of Elvis' own dead twin brother, and eagerly demonstrates the songs that he is about to release. Gary is disappointed when he hears the result: smooth, easy-listening ballads. Gary attempts to convince Elvis of his future as a famous rock singer, and plays some of the songs that he grew up with - songs that he thought Elvis really did sing. Elvis is horrified, claiming that it's the devil's music. The two break into an argument, and Elvis is accidentally killed. Realizing what must now happen, Gary buries Elvis and assumes his identity. In a flash forward scene set in Las Vegas of the 70's, Gary talks to one of his many groupies and says that he did all the songs, all the movies, as closely as he remembered from the 'real' Elvis.
