The fifth season of the American television comedy The Office is scheduled to premiere in the United States on NBC on September 25, 2008[1], in the 2008-2009 television season.

On April 10, 2008, NBC ordered a fifth season consisting of 28 half-hour segments.[2] The fifth season will continue the American adaptation of the British TV series of the same name as a fake documentary portraying the daily lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictitious Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

It has been announced that one of the fifth season episodes will air after NBC Super Bowl XLIII coverage on February 1, 2009, prior to the The Office spin off premiere.[3]

The fifth season of The Office will air on Thursdays at 9:00 PM (EDT).
