From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The New Soldier was a book published in 1971 by Vietnam Veterans Against the War. The book was edited by David Thorne and George Butler, with a section written by John Kerry. It contains excerpts of testimony by veterans at the Winter Soldiers Investigation on war crimes committed during the Vietnam War. It also has photographs taken at the 1971 anti-war demonstrations in Washington, D.C., as well as a copy of the Fulbright Hearing testimony given by John Kerry to the Senate committee.
With only 5000 copies originally printed, the book is considered a collector's item, selling at Amazon.com for more than $400.
