The Motorettes are a band from the North East England coastal town of Tynemouth. The band comprises Jack, Dan & Robin. They are signed to Kitchenware Records with Editors. They released their debut single "Super Heartbeats" on January 23, 2006. Super Heartbeats was the xfm single of the week. The Motorettes extensively toured the UK throughout 2006. This included joint-headline dates in July with Kubichek!. In June 2007 drummer Jed Laidlaw left the Motorettes and was replaced by Daniel Rose-Troup. The Motorettes played the Freevolution festival in Newcastle on may day 2007.

Their debut album, the self-titled "The Motorettes" was released on 21 August 2006.
