The Michael Jackson Show is an animated segment that appeared on the sketch comedy television series, Saturday Night Live, as part of Robert Smigel's recurring TV Funhouse segment.
It is a spoof on the classic Hanna-Barbara 1960s cartoons, and parodies aspects of singer Michael Jackson, including the child molestation allegations made against him in 1993, and his 2005 trial.
[edit] Plot
The show revolves around Jackson's fascination with young prepubescent boys, as well as his legal team's frequent attempts to get him to stop. Thomas Mesereau tries to fiend off any molestation charges that comes against Jackson, and he is often begging him to start dating women, so as to quell the rumors. Other characters include Michael's chimpanzee Bubbles, a giant teddy bear named Teddy, a talking llama, and the talking skeleton known as Elephant Man Bones.
[edit] Parodies
- Tara Reid and her accidental nipple-slip
- Emmanuel Lewis (who in real life is a close friend of Michael Jackson)
- The numerous children who visit Neverland Ranch.
- It shows other celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor (her arm is shown), and Marilyn Monroe (she is dead, but she still talks and her ashes are kept in a small-medium sided golden pot).
- It shows the 1960s cartoon play, when Yogi Bear is attracted to a windowsill where a pie is cooling, but in this case it's Michael Jackson is attracted to a small boy sitting on a windowsill to cool.
