Although David Bowie fronted an early band called The Mannish Boys, these Mannish Boys were fronted by a singer named Gass Wilde, stage name for Thomas Edwards. Edwards is not related to the singer of "It's All In The Game" Tommy Edwards. Gass Wilde auditioned as drummer for a version of The Pretenders prior to forming this group. They had one album on Loser Records in Europe before Jo Jo Laine became their manager. A production deal with Motown Records resulted in a four song tape produced by the late Jimmy Miller.
