The Long Eaton School is a secondary school in Long Eaton located between Nottingham and Derby. It is a specialist science college, with an Eco status. The school recently had a new building built in 2005 and was visited by Gordon Brown for the official opening. In September of 2007, the school had to close for two days due to a water contamination of legionnaires disease, which was dealt with very efficiently and school resumed with clean water shortly after.
