The Lion's Back is a sandstone ridge in Moab, Utah that is very popular among 4x4'ers. The attraction and campground is now private property and no longer runable by 4x4'ers.

[edit] The Climb

The climb involves several hundred feet on a 25° - 65° slope, and then a 9-point turn-around at the top of the rock before slowly descending the same way up.

[edit] The Crash

The hill is known for the crash in which a Chevy K-5 Blazer 4X4 lost its brakes and rolled down the hill, plunging 30 feet to the ground. Nobody was hurt in the crash. The accident was caught on home video and has been featured on TV shows including Real TV, and Maximum Exposure. [1]
