The Lesson Of Love is a single by the Folk rock trio, The Dream Academy.
The single came to be when Nick Laird-Clowes went over to Los Angeles to play some records to their record label. During his visit, it was suggested that he should meet up with Patrick Leonard (who produced for Madonna) to work on some bass lines at his home. However, Nick and Patrick managed to produce the entire song in just two four hour sessions, with Patrick encouraging Nick to add lyrics in the spur of the moment.
