The Lamproom Theatre is a theatre situated on Westgate Street, Barnsley, in South Yorkshire, England. Four theatre companies are based at the Lamproom; the Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble (LYTE), the Lamplyters, The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company, and The Lamproom Theatre Company.

[edit] Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble
The Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble (LYTE) is for 12-21 year olds, and presents two shows a year. The ensemble has presented a wide selection of shows, from Gilbert and Sullivan to Rock Opera. West Side Story was put on in November 2007.

The Lamproom Theatre Company is for 21 year-olds and upwards. Previous productions include:
- Fawlty Towers
- Dad's Army
- An Inspector Calls
- Turns
- Perfect Pitch
- Dreamers
- Abigail's Party
The productions of Turns and Dreamers were both award winning productions.[citation needed]

The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company is for 21 year-olds and upwards, and performs musical productions twice a year.
