The Johnny Bravo Pilot

Johnny Bravo is the pilot episode of the animated series Johnny Bravo and the title character makes his first appearance. It premiered on Sunday March 26, 1995. It was part of Cartoon Network's series What A Cartoon, a cartoon show where short pilots of cartoons are premiered, as a result it had a very low budget and was less detailed as all the other cartoons of Johnny Bravo. It was later rerun as an episode of the main Johnny Bravo series in 1997.

Johnny Bravo goes to the zoo when he flirts with a zookeper, who tells him that a gorilla is on the loose. In order to impress her he goes looking for this gorilla.

One interesting thing about this gorilla, is that he has presumably escaped to pursue a career on Broadway. As he sings the show tune "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey" and is seen acting several times.

  • Johnny Bravo was the only main character of the series to appear in this show.
  • The design of the gorilla was later re-used for the design of all the gorillas in JungleBoy.
