The Jane Bradfords are a four-piece indie band from Belfast, Northern Ireland that have drawn comparisons to The Cure, New Order and Talking Heads. They are part of a growing home-produced, synth-based Northern Irish indie scene which includes Oppenheimer (band), ExMagician and Cashier No.9 to name a few.

Originally a bedroom solo project by DJ/Musician Declan Gallen, they became a proper 4-piece band in 2006 when Ted Caldwell(Drums), Johnny Farry(Bass/Guitar) and David Frecknall(Lead Guitar) joined. Onstage Gallen seems to flit between vocals, keyboards, guitar and laptop.
According to the BBC the band were named after the lead character in the 1930s B-movie The Pace that kills and reference the film in several songs.[1]
They have been championed on BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens and Colin Murray. They performed a Maida Vale live session for Radio 1 in January 2007. The group have played support to Cold War Kids, The National (band), Peter Bjorn and John, LCD Soundsystem, CSS and Just Jack, emphasising the band's indie-electro crossover appeal.

The Jane Bradfords made the UK national news in November 2006 when, despite being unsigned, their debut single 'Hide From the Cold' got to number 1 in the QBS Alternative Radio charts in the Middle Eastern country Qatar, remaining there for two weeks.[2]
