[edit] Album History

The album includes Minogue's most successful singles released over the past fifteen years as well as six new songs; including the album's first single "So Under Pressure", which was released on June 12. The album was released as a single CD release and as a double CD/DVD package. It was released in New Zealand shortly before the end of 2006 and to date remains unreleased in mainland Europe, Asia and the US.

A reissue was tentatively planned and was to include Minogue's version of He's The Greatest Dancer but was scrapped due to Minogue's failure to film the promotional video for the single.

The album has sold approximately 45,000 copies in the UK.[1]

[edit] Chart performance

The Hits & Beyond was released on June 16, 2006 in Ireland and three days later on June 19, 2006 in the United Kingdom. It became Minogue's third top twenty album when it debuted at number seventeen on the UK albums chart, selling 14,452 copies in its first week of release. It however failed to chart in the Irish album chart. According to unsubstantiated rumours on Minogues website "The Hits and Beyond" has sold over 10,000 copies around Australia despite its peak of #67 in the ARIA charts then falling to #68 in its second week before falling out of the charts completely and the official sales figures from ARIA being 749 copies for the first week. The album saw a release in New Zealand at the end of 2006 where it failed to chart.

In the UK, the album has sold roughly 45,000 copies[2].
