The Express Line

"The Express Line" is a comedic one act play by Tom Fitzpatrick III. It is set in a supermarket in "the present", and it concerns a battle of wills between a man (Fred), who wants to go through a nine item express line with eleven items in his cart, and a checker (Mabel) who refuses to bend the rules. The first performance of "The Express Line" was on November 9, 1979, at the Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City, California.
