The Eric Burdon Band was a hard rock band formed in April 1973.
[edit] History:
The original band line-up was Eric Burdon (vocals), Aalon Butler (guitar), Alvin Taylor (drums/percussion) and Randy Rice (bass guitar). In September 1973, Snuffy Walden (guitar) joined the band for recording the unreleased "Mirage" album. This should be the soundtrack for the Mirage film. The movie was never filmed and the double album never released.
In 1974 Capitol released the album "Sun Secrets" which reached #51 on the US Pop Albums and featured the singles "The Real Me" and "Don't let me be Misunderstood". In 1975 they released the studio album "Stop" which also reached the US album charts.
In January 1975, Rice was replaced by Greg Brown and John "Rabbit" Bundrick was added on keyboards for a USA tour. They also had a gig at the famous Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles. This appeareance released in 1997 on "Live at the Roxy".
In December 1975, Burdon recorded with the original The Animals-line-up. Their album Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted released in 1977 and was a bestseller in Netherlands.
In April 1976, Burdon formed another "Eric Burdon Band":
Eric Burdon (vocals), Robert Ahwai (guitar), Mike Carr (keyboards) and Bobby Gien (drums) was credited as "Eric Burdon & Mike Carr Band" for the Rockpalast gig.
After Burdon did a jam session with Roger Chapman, Mitch Mitchell and others at the London Marquee Club, he recorded his first solo album, "Survivor" (1977). At this time Burdon toured through Germany also as a guest star of Udo Lindenberg, Rory Gallagher.
In February 1979 another "Eric Burdon Band" did a Benefit concert in Germany.
[edit] Trivia:

- In 1986, Eric Burdon's first auto biography, I Used To Be An Animal, But I'm Alright Now, released. It says that the Sun Secrets and Stop albums released without his agreement.
- After the huge success of the two albums they released, in late 1975, as a compilation, Sun Secrets/Stop.
- In 1976 the album In Concert released, but it's also available on the "Rockpalast" VHS.
