The Empire State Plaza Concourse is an underground city connecting the buildings of the Empire State Plaza and the Egg,the New York State Museum, The New York State Library, The Corning Tower, Legislative office, and the Times Union Center. The Concourse also has several resturants, shops, banks, and other conveniences.

When the Empire State Concourse was being built, the country was in its abstract art age. Around the Concourse, there are many abstract paintings and sculptures.

In the concourse there is a Hallmark, a flower shop, 2 cafeterias, a McDonalds, 2 Starbucks, a YMCA, a bus station, clothing stores, a dollar store, and a visitor center. Many state workers spend their break time here.
