The online columnist for Datamation magazine from 1998 until the magazine was acquired by Internet.com in 2001. His name was a parody of the 1950's "Duke of Earl" and the web acronym "URL" because he was a "hip" greaser reporting on the cool sites of relevance to the monthly "Over the Edge" humor column that ran in the manazine.
The Duke awarded the best of breed sites with a "Duke approved" seal which sites proudly displayed.
