The Dilettantes

The Dilettantes are a neo-psychedelic/indie/garage rock band based in San Francisco. The band is fronted by "tambourine man" and "spokesman for the revolution" Joel Gion, a founding member of the neo-psychedelic rock band, The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

The band members include Joel Gion on vocals, tambourine & maracas; Jefferson Parker (from The Pandas) on guitars & vocals; Nic Russo on guitars; KC Kozak on drums and Nick Marcantonio on bass guitar.

Former members include Brock Galland (from Starlight Desperation) on guitars & vocals.

Joel Gion is the main songwriter for the group. The vocals on 101 Tambourines were shared among himself, Jefferson Parker and Brock Galland. The group is clearly influenced by various 60's bands. Gion himself has stated that he is a fan of The Beatles, The Chocolate Watchband as well as many other 60's bands.

The group has released its debut album titled 101 Tambourines.
