[edit] Criticism

Most reviewers have panned their albums, with All Music Guide using terms like "unlistenable" and "horrific". AMG Music critic Jason Birchmeier says on several reviews that "...never do these songs compare to the original versions, sounding instead somewhat cheap and kitschy". Bradley Torreano says that The Countdown Singers are "...a group of session musicians who ape any sort of music that they need to. This can be incredibly effective at some moments, and hilariously bad at others" and on his review of the album "#1 Hits" he says that "... these versions are just not as good, no matter how much they may sound like the originals."
