The Connexion is a monthly newspaper serving the English-speaking expatriate community in France. The Connexion is edited in Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes department, although it has contributors and correspondents from across France, the UK and the USA. Founded in September 2002, The Connexion now has more than 7,000 subscribers and a print run of 42,000 a month.[citation needed] It is sold across France, on newsstands offering international titles.
[edit] Editorial themes
The Connexion aims to provide balanced news stories on major events of social, economic and political importance in France. This is to provide the readership, mostly expatriate Britons at different levels of ability in the French language, with an essential awareness of what is going on in the country.
The Connexion supports and encourages expatriate integration into the French community.
The paper provides practical advice, often written by French and British professionals living and working in France, aimed at families and individuals who chose to move to France.
Major themes include: healthcare issues for expatriates living in France, advice on tax issues, dealing with French utilities companies, changes in French law, property advice and running a business in France, among others
The Connexion also runs features on cultural events in France, interviews with politicians, economists, artists, writers and others who contribute to France’s political, economic and cultural life.
It also features stories on expatriates who have moved to France and successfully set up businesses and associations and who have had an interesting experience in cultural and linguistic integration.
[edit] Readership
